It’s the first question almost every founder asks us: “How much will my app cost?” The honest answer is “it depends” — so here’s what it actually depends on, with realistic ranges for the GCC market.
What actually drives app cost
Two apps that look similar can differ wildly in price. The biggest cost drivers are:
- Scope — the number of features. Every screen, flow and integration adds time. A booking flow, payments, chat and an admin dashboard are each a project in their own right.
- Platforms. iOS only, Android only, both, plus web? More platforms means more to build, test and maintain.
- Backend complexity. Real-time features, maps, payment gateways (KNET, Apple Pay) and integrations all add up.
- Design depth. A polished, custom-designed product costs more than a template — and almost always converts better.
- Compliance & localisation. Arabic / RTL support and industry rules (health, fintech) add real work.
Typical ranges by complexity
- A focused MVP (one core flow, one or two platforms) typically starts in the low five figures.
- A full marketplace or on-demand app usually lands in the mid five to low six figures.
- A complex platform (fintech, real-time, heavy integrations) can run well into six figures.
These are ranges, not quotes — the only way to get an accurate number is a short conversation about what you’re building.
How to get more for your budget
You don’t have to build everything at once. The smartest founders start with an MVP, launch it, learn from real users, and reinvest in what works. Working with one studio that handles design and development together also saves money: no expensive hand-off, one team accountable for the result.
